SAS Forum 2017

SAS Forum is SAS UK’s annual conference in bringing together  the worlds best Analytical Experts together, to talk about the future of Analytics and explore how SAS Software can assist in industry.

For this years SAS Forum event held at The Vox Conference Centre, Birmingham SFL provided full production design consultancy and management to the event. On site saw SFL deliver two main elements to the event, In the Plenary space a full Video, LED & Camera Solution and an extensively designed Scenic solution to suit. This year saw SFL Deliver a large 15m x 3.5m 3.9mm LED Screen, utilising SFL’s stock of Gloshine 3.9mm LED wall, being driven from our Barco E2 Event Master Image Processing Unit. Content was delivered from our Dual Mac Pro Media Server Rack using QLab playback software.

Then throughout the Foyer and breakout spaces SFL provided multiple branded Partner Stations with supporting Plasma Screens and Laptop Displays, SAS Demo Pods, Lounge Areas & Learning Spaces most notable the SAS Social Media Hub which was an interactive experience utilising bezel-less plasma technology.

This year, we were working to an extremely tight schedule, with access into the venue at 0600 and rehearsals needed in the plenary space to take place at 1600, we had our work cut out. The team put in a Stirling effort to deliver for the client and the work certainly paid off.

The highlight of the event, is always to see the client and customer reaction of turning their dream into reality. The vision for this event was dreamt up a long time ago and it took lots of careful planning and considerations to make this work within the various constraints we needed to work under. Seeing the opening sequence come to life through the cinematic style LED wall, with discussions and talks around AI in our future life, it all seemed to harmonise off each other very well with the theme of this years conference being around AI in the home and how technology and analytics can help mould our lives for the better and longer!
